Sandra MacKay
Sandra brings more than 30 years of experience as a senior legal and business executive, advising organizations across the technology, energy, healthcare, and emergency response sectors. She is recognized for delivering pragmatic, strategic counsel to boards of directors and executive leadership teams, particularly on governance, enterprise risk, and complex organizational decision-making.
Most recently, Sandra served as Global Vice President, Legal and Corporate Secretary at Copperleaf Technologies Inc., a global provider of AI-powered asset investment planning software. In this role, she was instrumental in Copperleaf’s $1-billion acquisition in 2024, advising the board and senior management on governance, legal and regulatory risk, due diligence, and transaction structure over the two-year period leading up to and through closing.
Earlier in her career, Sandra held senior legal roles in the public sector, including with E-Comm 9-1-1, the multi-municipality emergency communications agency serving British Columbia, and the Provincial Health Services Authority, which coordinates specialized healthcare services province-wide. The majority of her career has been in the private sector, where she has held senior legal and human resources leadership roles across the mining, information and engineering technology, and energy industries.
In her role with Lupini & Co, Sandra provides business-focused advisory services—not legal advice—to boards and senior leaders in the areas of corporate governance, human resources, and strategic planning. Her work includes board orientation and education, board and governance evaluations, strategic planning facilitation, the development of effective governance frameworks, and corporate secretary advisory support. Where legal expertise is required, she assists clients in identifying appropriate external counsel and in framing clear, effective mandates.
Sandra currently serves on the boards of two early-stage public mining companies and has previously served as a director of the Arts Club Theatre Company and Special Olympics BC. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia and is an avid tennis player.
